All about migrating your LivePen data to inq

How do I migrate my data from LivePen to inq?

Just follow this preferred method:

  1. In the LivePen app, go to the Account menu by clicking on the Person icon.
  2. Click the Start Migration button, and follow the guided instructions to migrate your LivePen data to inq. The process is fast, easy, and secure.
  3. Install the inq app from the App Store or Play Store, and start using!

That’s all there is to it!

What if I already installed the inq app or created an inq account? What if I already added data to my inq account?

This is completely fine. All data that exists in your LivePen account but not your inq account will still be migrated. (If you have identical pen data in both your LivePen and existing inq accounts, that already-existing data will be not be duplicated.)

Please note: if you have the inq app open during the migration, after the migration is complete you may need to sign out and sign back in to your inq account in order to see the migrated data.

What data will be migrated?

All of your handwriting, transcripts, voice recordings, and voice transcripts in your LivePen account will be migrated to inq.

Is data migration required in order to use inq?

No, it is optional. If you prefer, you can skip migrating your data and just start using the inq app with a fresh new account.

Can I try inq first, and then migrate my data later?

Yes you can.

I don't see the Start Migration button?

Make sure you are running LivePen version 1.15.1 or later. You can see the version at the bottom of the Account screen. Tap the Person icon to open the Account screen.

If you are on an older version, you can force an update by visiting LivePen in the App Store or Play Store.

Can I migrate my LivePen account to more than one inq account, or migrate multiple LivePen accounts to the same inq account?

The automated migration flow only supports a one-to-one migration - each LivePen account may be migrated to exactly one inq account. However, if you have more complex needs, please get in touch and we will help.

Can I continue to use my migrated LivePen account in the LivePenapp after I migrate to inq?

You can continue to browse your notes in the LivePen app using a migrated account. You can also sign out of your migrated account into a different LivePen account. 

However, you will not be able to connect your LivePen to migrated LivePen account. To connect your LivePen, use your new inq account (or another account).
